NEWS JULY 2008Great news for Fatima Spar & the Freedom Fries. The band has been selected for an official showcase performance on the WOMEX 2008 in Sevilla Spain. The concert will take place on october 30. More infos on the WOMEX showcase tba soon.
The long awaited second album of Fatima Spar & the Freedom Fries will be released in october. In the mean time the band is taking a break from the extensive touring and will hit the road again on august 16, when they will headline the brückenfestival in nurnberg germany. Tini Trampler und die Dreckige Combo and 78plus are two more fine bands from vienna. they released new albums last spring and will be touring around austria next fall. check out the ´dates´ section on this website to find out more on all concerts. Amsterdam Klezmer Band will visit austria in november, playing some gigs in salzburg, eisenstadt and vienna. they will also bring along their new album , which will appear on essay recordings next october. And then there is Ginga, the youngest band on the Fritspecial Artist Roster. Watch out for Ginga´s first album which will be released in september in Austria.
